It's gone!

This is a follow-up post from this one. I loved all your comments and help you all gave me. I am the biggest wimp when it comes to my little Chelsea. She is my baby and I just wish I could freeze time. I really don't want her getting any bigger. I had decided to take the whole "getting rid of the bottle" slow, simply because I will miss my baby when she isn't a baby anymore. I know, LAME! Anyways, last night Chelsea and I were snuggling together. She had her blankie and she really wanting her bottle. I said, "Chelsea, bottles are for babies! Are you a baby?" She said, "no, I am not!!!" I said, "we need to throw your bottle away." She said, "OK!" She went and got the bottle, threw it in the trash. Then she asked for our back-up bottle, which is just like this blue one, but it is pink. I handed it to her and she threw that away also. I then told Dan he better hurry and dump the kitchen trash. At bed time SHE told me, "my bottle is gone, and I am not a baby!" She wasn't even sad! It was that easy. WOW!! So, I guess she just needed to be ready. YAAHOO, Chelsea! She also woke up dry so we are headed for NO pull-ups at bedtime next! She was excited to tell Christian and Auntie Marrianne all about it at church today. Now to get Melanie to stop sucking her thumb. We can't throw that away. Any ideas? This habit I will NOT MISS!

Have Mel help you make dinner every night - grating onions and garlic and touching hot peppers. I know when I touch those foods, I don't want any of my fingers near my mouth...ha, ha. I have no idea what to do.

Good job! All that worrying and she did it on her own. Who knew?!

That is great! Chelsea is a big girl now. As for Mel....well, my grandma tried putting stuff on my thumb...didn't work. Then she tried a cover for my thumb...didn't work. Then a cover up to my wrist, elbow, shoulder...none of it worked as I would just pull them off. That is why I used a pacifier for my own 7 children...you can throw away a pacifier, but not a thumb. Good luck!

Good Job!!! I hear ya when you said that you don't want your baby to grow up. Especially if she is your last. I was way sad when Graham stopped nursing. Good luck with Mel :)

When they're ready, they're ready! She was so cute today! Hopefully it will last, and the dryness, too.

What a big step...for both of you :)
Our kids are getting too old too fast! It just makes me want to demand hugs and kisses all the more. Soon, my boys will be "too cool" to gives loves. If only we could freeze time!
