The other day I was out doing my daily, early morning 4 mile walk with my friend Stephanie. I had Chelsea in the jogger and on about the 2nd mile, Chelsea "has to go potty". Well, you know when they have to go, they have to go? So, I asked if she could hold it. She said, "NO, mommy!" Of-course, they don't tell you until they really HAVE TO GO! So, we were in a little trouble. We asked her if she wanted to go in the bushes, she looked at us like we were weird-os. Spencer does it! I guess we never "taught" her to do it. So, she did know! She started to cry! We had just past a school a mile back and we were like 2 miles from home. We were also on the Borchard grade, which is a pretty busy road. I didn't know what I was going to do. Until my brilliant friend Stephanie spotted an "Andy Gump". Most people call them out houses I guess, but to me they are "andies"! It was sitting on the side of the road where some workers had been working on a project. Everyone knows that these things are the MOST disgusting things ever and I wasn't about to let my 3 year old go into one and pee. "The bushes were cleaner", I said. As we got to it, Chelsea recognized it (from our summer beach trips, I guess), jumped out of the stroller and started for it. Stephanie and I looked at each other. UMMMM...I peeked inside. It was the most beautiful Andy I had ever seen and smelled. It was spotless. It even had a fresh roll of TP and sanitizer for the hands. I then noticed the service date and time. They came and serviced it like 10 minutes prior. So, yes...we used it! I didn't hear any honks as cars roared by, so maybe no one we knew saw us. Let me know if you did! I kept looking over my shoulder. So, Chelsea was happy and we were able to finish our walk. So, the moral is don't laugh when people have Andies in front of their houses, you might have to use it sometime and you will be glad! THE END
P.S. this isn't a picture of the actual Andy. If it were, I would have just knocked on the door of the house behind it. I didn't have my camera, so this is just a picture I found on the internet. Our Andy was on a lonely road with no houses.

This reminded me of a youth conference dad and I chaperoned a few years back. We had all gone to the Ventura beach where there were no bathrooms, so we had an andy-gump on the back of a trailer for the kids to use. As we arrived and started to park one of the girls, Dawn, decided to quickly use the andy-gump. The driver did not know she was inside and decided to move ahead a few parking spaces. She was extremely surprised to find herself inside the andy-gump riding down PCH.
That's classic. This had me laughing and I'm so glad she didn't have to pee her pants cuz there was no where to "go".
Sister Merrill, that is sooo funny!!! I can just picture it! Lisa, that is great...I think they are vile too, so you totally lucked out! Do you think she would have "gone" if it was all nasty inside??
I remember when Dawn was trapped in the Andy Gump! That was too funny. I see that Andy Gump every day when I take the boys to school, and you and Stephanie walking!
I'm not laughing. I can't tell you how many times I've had to use them for myself:) They are usually pretty gross so you all lucked out:)
