House Update!
Two days til' Escrow closes and we are signing cancellation papers on the house in Simi! AHHHH!!! We had one last thing to work out with the neighbors and our attorneys before we actually signed over the deposit. An easement issue! We really didn't think it was going to be a big deal. The neighbors to the right of "our" house have been using part of the property for their boat for the past 18 years. They have even built a 3 foot wall on "our" property to encase their boat. The previous owner let them do this for over 18 years and so by law have lost part of their property to them. We of-course, want ALL of the property that is for sale including this RV parking that is actually on our property, that could be used by us. We met with the neighbors the other day along with both agents. The problem was not resolved, which forced us to back out and cancel. The neighbor lady actually said, "we have lived here for over 30 years and have tight relationships with every person on this street. If you force us to take down our wall, you will not have a lot of friends on this street!" Basically saying, "we will all hate you!" NICE!! That is a neighbor I want to live next to!! After some serious discussions and prayer, Dan and I both felt it was WRONG!!! So, we are back out there looking! Wish us luck!

I am so sorry! But you are right, you won't want to move next to them. I bet the sellers are mad!
You'll end up in the home where you belong, just like we did. I'll be praying for you all. I know it's a blow, but problems with neighbors are far better discovered before you move in than after.
Ditto, Kathleen, we too are soooo very glad they found out now. Everything will work out for the best and they have a great house to use until then...we're just fine right where we are for a while longer....to fret! Secretly hope they find one in our Stake or TO.
that is absolutely ridiculous! i can't believe that the neighbors are so unwilling to bend on property that DOESN"T EVEN BELONG TO THEM.
(there would be much swearing over here.)
What a PAIN! Don't they realize that anybody interested in buying that house is going to want ALL their property! It is a pain, but I sure there is a reason it did not work out! Buying a house is just too darn stressful!
Yes...run far, far away! Noone needs a neighbor whose the boss of the block! You'll find the "just right" house soon.
Ahh poop. That means you won't be here with us:( Oh well, I so wouldn't move next to crazy people like those people. Good choice on that one. Keep me updated on any other house news. Kim got a house in newbury. That is way cool:)
Wow! It sounds like you have had quiet the time finding a house. I'm sure the right one will come along and you will be happy in the long run.
Your kids are so adorable! I love catching up on your blog. Take care!
