The Hat
So, I know you have all experienced this. Your child is wearing something, and they refuse to change or take it off to go out. You know like when they are playing dress-up and want to wear it to the store or to the park. OK, I am fine with that! I am not OK with them wearing something for a straight WEEK refusing to take it off. Especially if it is something that makes them look so silly that I actually feel embarrassed to be with them. OK, so Chelsea has been attached to this "hat". It is not just any hat, but it is a little boys spiderman beanie. She loves it! She went a whole WEEK wearing this thing everywhere. She would wear it to the store, at the dinner table, running errands, and it was almost impossible to get her to take it off for bath time or bed. She even refused to take it off to go to a birthday party one Saturday afternoon. I dressed her up all cute, put pony tails in her hair and as we were headed out the door, she grabbed the hat and on it went. I tried to snatch it off her head a couple times and she just threw this huge fit. So, off to the party we go. Moments like these, we have to stop and ask ourselves, "does it really matter?" I was actually embarrassed! How lame is that! So, here are two shots of her wearing her silly hat, one eating dinner and one at the "party". Oh Chelsea!
See her in the background?

Hey she didn't have it on today! This cracks me up . . . and you're right, things like this you just have to give in and say Does it really Matter? As long as you snap a picture and journal about it!
I love that! I say let them wear what they want...one day they'll be in junior high and look just like everyone else :)
My neighbor's son is turning 5 in a few weeks and refuses to take off a red power ranger outfit. She can barely get it washed. Now theres a hole in the knee and getting snugg in unattractive places...we just laugh!
I think that is soooo cute! You will laugh with her when she gets older. Ainsley used to wear layers and layers of socks on her hands. It looked like she had a cast on. Now I think it is so funny! Of course, it's always the funniest looking thing they can find. They never get attached to something cute and stylish, right?
